Then & Now

I thought it was time for a then and now post. There I am, the day before my mastectomy with Carolyn & Susan; then the bald pictures....which coincide with the fat pictures; then, a body shot after losing a lot of weight; and then the most recent body shot (lost even more weight) at Halloween. (These may be mixed up in order, so you'll have to use your imaginations!) Things have changed, and this Thanksgiving I have a lot to be grateful for. (I should get a "hair shot" where I'm not wearing a long sparkly wig...!)

Love,
Kristina

Not sure how I ended up reading your post @ this hour with a house to clean and guests coming tomorrow. I hopped around to and from various dates and was so happy to see that you were able to to the 3-day walk this past summer. Then having taken on the 1/2 marathon. "you go girl". I see you have your sights set on a marathon...have you thought of the Danskin Triathlon? It is the largest all female triathlon in the world. Almost 5,000 women this year in Seattle alone. It supports breast cancer research. It takes place every August @ Genese Park on Lake Washington. It is a 1/2 mile open water swim, 14 mile bike ride over I-90 and then a 5k run. You can even do this as a relay if you want. The swimming is the biggest challenge for most of us women to master but by far the best exercise for us. I know you have to work up to this but it would be a great goal to focus on. Wouldn't it be fun to tell others that you are now a training for a triathlon?
I have done this race for four years now. If nothing else go watch it this summer.
Thank you for sharing your story with all of us out here.
Now go start a collection of race medals to wear as accesories. It is fun and inspiring. They make great jewelry and on those days when you feel down you can put one on and remind yourself of what you can accomplish.
"You go girl"
Now back to the house to clean and what to feed the guests.
Peace and Love
